Football: IT TOOK 27 YEARS TO REPEAT, BUT THE SENATORS ARE ONCE AGAIN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS. Last night the Varsity easily defeated the Filer Wildcats in their final Conference matchup to earn the title of District Champs with a 7-0 record for the season. The JV’s also won this week. However in the MS both squads lost tight defensive battles in Filer last Tuesday night. Both games were tied @ 0 in the last seconds of the first half when the Wildcats were able to complete long passes for a score. The GMS Senators had some bright spots but were unable to string together enough plays to put points on the board.
Volleyball: On Monday night our Varsity girls defeated the Declo Hornets in a non Conference matchup but lost a close one to the Filer Wildcats. The JV’s and freshman teams also had success on the night. Our Matchup with Kimberly was moved to Monday night Oct 8th. It will also be senior night. Then on Tuesday we turn around and have another Conference game at Buhl. This will be a special night as both competing schools will honor cancer survivors. Each school will wear different shades of pink. So if you were not able to purchase one of the designated T-shirts just come to the game in Buhl and wear a light shade of pink.
Cross Country Results: Both teams competed in the BIG meet at the Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls consisting mostly of 4A and 5A schools. Rachel Youren placed 5th overall as did Elesio Garcia in their respective races running personal best times. The Girls placed 9th overall as a team and lead all other 3A schools in the meet. The boys placed 13th overall and 2nd behind Kimberly in 3A competition.
Soccer Results: The Girls finished 5th in the District with a much improved season. The Boys finished 1st and earned a bye for the first round of District competition.
